Yamaha F50 outboard engine for sale, from us here at Pennine Marine in Skipton,
QUOTES AND SALE PRICES: NEW YAMAHA F50 OUTBOARD ENGINES
Most Yamaha F50 engines are installed here in our Skipton workshop "fully fitted and completed" - so all connected up and immediately ready to use out on the water. This 50hp four-stroke outboard engine installation is complete with the Yamaha manufacturer's PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection).
Therefore we normally request full details of your boat before we prepare a bespoke quote specifically for you for a new Yamaha F50 engine. Our quote for a new Yamaha 50hp engine will not only include the 50hp Yamaha four-stroke engine itself: it will also include the propeller: the throttle controller: rigging: control wiring: instruments etc.
What makes a difference on quoting each customer's boat is the variable amount of work involved with removing the old engine; then any alterations to the steering: fuel line and especially making sure the electrical system is compatible with the new Yamaha 50hp engine. These installations on an existing boat all need to be fully compatible with your new Yamaha 50hp outboard engine - which is a sophisicated bit of precision-made Japanese kit. No back-street bodging is allowed !
For budgeting purposes, new Yamaha F50 outboard engines normally have a Yamaha recommended retail price of 7,459.00 including VAT (Yamaha advertised RRP in mid june 2018)
We here at Pennine Marine in Skipton do however offer a substantial discount on the sale of new Yamaha outboard engines: especailly if you live in Yorkshire. We have even been known to offer substantial discounts to customers who live in Lancashire (yes; times really are that hard up here in The North).
Most new installations of F50 engines work out at 7,000.00 to 8,000.00 complete including installation; manufacturers PDI and including the dreaded VAT at UK/EU rates of 20%.
Please see notes on this page for why this might vary a bit
From when your new Yamaha F50 engine has been ordered (here in Yorkshire that means the deposit paid!) to completion - or delivery - of a new Yamaha F50 outboard engine will vary slightly depending on a few factors.
This timescale for the availablity of new Yamaha 50hp outboard engines usually depends on our workshop workload and also how quickly the new 50hp engines arrive with us from Yamaha in their European warehouse.
However it is normally two weeks from Yamaha F50 order to completion; slighly longer at the busiest times of the year. Occasionally up to four weeks if we need to manufacturer some bespoke parts for a more complex Yamaha F50 re-engineeering project.
However this budget for a brand new 50hp outboard engine can vary depending on whether (or not) this new 50hp Yamaha engine installation is installed onto a "clean new hull": or whether it is a more complete engineering project.
More work is often required as a retrofit a 50hp outboard onto an existing boat. Retrofit projects and re-engineering will often involve removing an 50hp existing engine: then preparing the boat complete and ready for the new Yamaha F50 outboard engine. This additional work may include dealing with issues like replating old instrument holes and cutting new ones for new Yamaha F50 modern instruments.
Please note that (sadly) insurance replacements of 50hp Yamaha outboard engines often cost more than this budget: This is not us ripping off the insurers! This is due to the amount of damage that theiving b*******s usually cause to the boat's steering, controls and electrical systems when ripping the engines off. Therefore a new Yamaha F50 engine cost exactly what we said above: however all the rest of these repairs (of everything which was once connected to the engine: and have been severed) just add to the total bill
Our workshop charges for the complete standard annual service on one Yamaha F50 is a total of 349.00 This service rate is all inclusive and includes the dreaded VAT at 20% (note correct prices as of June 2018).
This F50 service includes all labour (yamaha trained techician), genuine yamaha spare parts, genuine yamilube oils (engine and gearbox) and all consumables.
We undertake all recommended safety inspections - including checking kill-cords - as part of this standard service. We include a fully computerised diagnostic check on all Yamaha engines which are fitted with computerised diagnistics (ie like the modern F50 shown here in this photo, all linked up to the Pennine marine engine diagnostics laptop..No expense spared here at Pennine Marine, the techies in the workshop are state of the art 21st century high-tech; and even have their own laptop).
This Yamaha outboard engine diagnostics system allows us to see whether (or not) you have been a good boy (or girl) and show us whether you are looking after the engne properly and not abusing it. Yes - the computer really is watching you, even out at sea. We will probably will not be able to offer you a print-out: however (depending on the model) however- based on what the computer tells us - we will be able to offer genumie advice on how to properly look after your Yamaha engine.
This quotes excludes known running faults: repairs; investigation and any accidential damage (see our full terms and conditiions)
There are a large number of different propeller which can be fitted to a new Yamaha F50 outboard engine.
The technical specification of the Yamaha F50 HETL outboard engines is as follows;
- Remote steering (however see separate note about optional tiller kit). (Steering gear is all sold separately)
- This is an 50hp electric start; also with the yamaha prime start system (the E)
- The Yamaha F50 is a four stroke engine - normal unleaded petrol (RON 90)
- This F50 is a four-cyliner in-line engine; 996cm displacement (this is what us oldie's used to call cc)
- The dry weight of the engine F50 HEDL is 107kg
- Standard transom height is 527mm, so a long shaft (the L)
- The yamaha 50hp has power trim and tilt
- NEMA 2000 compliant
THERE IS ALSO AN YAMAHA FT50 OUTBOARD ENGINE:
"FT50" MEANS 50hp WITH HIGH-THRUST GEARBOX.
THIS FT50 ENGINE IS GREAT FOR HEAVY WORKBOATS AND CANALBOATS
Please call us for full details of the Yamaha FT50 high-trust outboard engine
We offer a tiller conversion kit for the Yamaha F50. This allows the Yamaha F50 to be steered and controlled via the tiller: and this the engine is therefore self-contained.
The tiller kit includes the gears and throttle and kill-cord etc. Please note that this is quite a skilled operation to convert from one to another: therefore we do not offer it as a DIY kit
The conversion kit for a Yamaha F50 is normally sold in conjunction with the Zodiac Milpro boats; for use by military and professional operators. Therefore please contact ourselves for details.
The Yamaha F50 outboard engine is an excellent outboard, well-proven and highly reliable. Therefore Yamaha genuine spare parts should only be needed for routinue maintainance.
Whilst I might be tempting fate here with this next remark: we have never seen a yammy 50hp (or a 60hp one) with a warranty fault: let alone a serious failure. However we have seen one (say no more) that was ruined by poor maintainance, in that particular case called "bodging over a number of years" ("shame" I hear you say...)
Normal servicing intervals on the Yamaha F50 outboard engine are every 100 hours, or for most leisure customers, annually.
The Yamaha servicing kit - all the Yamaha spare parts - for this 50hp four-stroke engines are widely available. These spare parts are gaskets: oil filters: thermostats; fuel filter (vital) anodes, impellers and of course a few spark pllugs. Then also some engine oil and gearbox oil.
The standard "100 hour" service kits for new Yamaha 50hp outboard engines are 102.81 including VAT - with the oil sold separately (i.e extra) to these parts. Please note the Yamaha F50 spare parts "100 hr kit" does not include oils; the thermostat nor belts etc.
A new Yamaha F50 outboard engine is supplied complete with a new throttle controller and instruments.
Here in this image, the Yamaha throttle controller (a 703) is on the port side of this jockey seat console (the right-hand side if you are a land-lubber) and the Yamaha multi-function instrument guage is mounted of the starboard side (if you are a land-lubber I shall let you work that one out for yourself).
This boat is a Zodiac 420 rib, fitted with a new Yamaha F50 outboard engine. This was a bespoke project which was exported out from Yorkshire to a private customer who is based in the deepest darkest "Poldark country" of south-west of England. Believe it or not, it took us a full two days to get there and get back; so remote is south west England from the natural thriving centre of the UK. However, despite that customer being within a few minutes of several local boating dealerships, he came here to buy a new boat. I wonder why.....? Is it because we are such nice chaps - or is it because we are based in Yorkshire, that we offer great value for money?
This rib boat is seen here in our yard - just before it left "sunny Skipton" . A Suzuki DF60 is on the oranage Humber rib in the background.
However please note that we can supply a "Yamaha F50 engine in a box only - for fitting by others":
However we would advise that a high degree of engineering competence is needed to install one of these new Yamaha 50hp engines. Ideally you need access to the yamaha diagnostic computer system, which is needed to iniitialise the engine. Please call us for advice
This new Yamaha F50 engine is supplied complete in the box (see photo) with separate Yamaha rigging loom: Yamaha throttle controller (usally a 703 controller) and new Yamaha propeller.
We aways recommend that - simply for maximum hydro-dynamic efficency - that the genuine Yamaha cardboard box is completely removed from the new Yamaha F50 outboard engine before the boat is first put in the water. This finishing touch, a "neat trick of the trade" is a hint which we are quite happy to share with our more knowledgeable customers.
This removal of the cardboard box will allow the maximum possible flow of water (the essential H20 chemical compound) to circulate more freely around the bottom of the new Yamaha 50hp engine. This maximises the depth of water (measured in parts of fathoms) around your new Yamaha computer-designed multi-bladed propeller. This simple trick - one which is easily overlooked when reading the Yamaha manufacturers installation manual - therefore improves the speed, performance and efficency of your new Yamaha 50hp outboard engine.
Joking apart: if you want us to "supply only" a boxed-up new Yamaha F50 engine to fit yourself: to your own boat: please call us on 01756 792335 and we will be quite happy to give some straight, honest and impartial advice.
