The Zodiac Futura is "probably" the ultimate inflatable watersports boat. In fact the Futura fastroller thinks it is a powerboat! There are two types of Zodiac Futura, the Zodiac Futura Fastroller and the Zodiac Futura Aluminium (Futura ALU).

The Zodiac Futura is a perenially popular choice - both new and preowned boats - with a wide range of Pennine Marine's customers.

The Zodiac Futura gives high performance, safety and outstanding handling in flat water conditions and safety in inshore seas. The Zodiac Futura is popular with couples, families and sports boat enthusiasts.

ZODIAC FUTURA - A UNIQUE HULL DESIGN

The Zodiac Futura's patented boat hull design is unique to this Zodiac infklatable boat. The Zodiac Futura inflatable combines the practicality and light weight of an Zodiac inflatable boat with the tight and precise handling of a Zodiac rib.

The Zodiac Futura boat range is a proven design, used in the UK for over a decade. The Zodiac Futura design has evolved during that time. The Futura boat was originally developed from a lightweight military application and this shows in the Futura's lightweight and toughness

Several years ago the Zodiac Futura was given larger diameter tubes to cope with the heavier 4 stroke engines. This upgrade improved the Zodiac Futura's balance, handling and overall performance.

The Zodiac Futura's handling is remarkable on flat water - it corners like an express train. The Zodiac Futura - especially the Zodiac Futura ALU - is therefore superb for watersports and high speed manouvering.

However the unique design of the Zodiac Futura's boat hull means our customers feel secure when taking their Zodiac Futura's out in rough weather. The Futura is aboat that performs well in both inshore and coastal seas. In these conditions the Zodiac Futura will match an equivalent small rib.

The extremely shallow draft of the Zodiac Futura can be advantageous over rib's in certain waters and especially when launching from remote beaches, where there is little depth on the beach approach.

Sitting low in the water, Zodiac Futura riders will connect with the wind and waves as they plane at high speed across the surface of a lake or sea. Overall the Zodiac Futura's perforamnce is safe, but exhilerating.

ZODIAC FUTURA BOATS - A CHOICE OF TWO FLOOR TYPES

There are a choice of two floor types on Zodiac Futura;

Zodiac Futura ALU - Aluminium panel floor
Zodiac Futura Fastroller - High pressure air floor.

There are three sizes of the Zodiac Futura for 2012;

Zodiac Futura Mark 2C - 3.7m (12 foot 2 inches)
Zodiac Futura Mark 2 - 4.1m (13 foot 5 inches)
Zodiac Futura Mark 3 - 4.5m (14 foot 9 inches)

Both the Zodiac Futura ALU and Futura Fastroller boats are avaliable in 2012 in all three sizes.

THE ALUMINIUM FLOOR FUTURA

The Zodiac Futura ALU - aluminium floor version - has remarkable rigidity and strength for a small inflatable boat. The Zodiac Futura ALU will therefire accept a range of more powerful outboard engines and is prefered to the Fastroller for serious watersports.

The robust floor of the Zodiac Futura ALU also gives users a feeling of strength and comfort, especailly in rough seas.

The Zodiac Futura ALU will accept the Zodiac optional pack. The Futura optional pack consists of the steering console and bench seating. This gives the Futura a total of three fixed seats and a proper steering helm position. The console gives the small Zodiac Futura a "big boat" feel and handling.

THE STOWABLE FUTURA

The Zodiac Futura Fastroller is designed for ease of stowing. When deflated the Zodiac Futura Fastroller packs down into a carry bag for ease of transportation.

FUTURA - A WIDE CHOICE OF ENGINES

The Zodiac Futura will accept a wide range of engines.

Pennine Marine normally fit Yamaha or Suzuki outboards to Zodiac Futuras. However the Futura will accept Honda, Evinrudes, Tohastu's and Mercury/Mariner's outbaird engines.

The Zodiac Futura can either be fitted with tiller steering engines, or remote steering engines helmed from the console (remote steering is only possible with the optional console and seating pack and therefore only on the Zodiac Futura ALU).

CHOOSING THE BEST ZODIAC FUTURA FOR YOU

We usually find that our customers choice of which Zodiac Futura to select is dictated by one key issue - portability.

The portability issue significantly affects the choice of Zodiac Futura floor type and therefore whether a console, seating and helming is required.

If, when using your Futura, you require it to be highly portable and folded up quickly for transportion each time the boat goes out on the water. We recommend the Zodiac Fastroller floor used with a tiller engine. This is often the smaller Zodiac Futura Fastroller models.

If you do not need to fold your Futura for transportation, we recommend the larger Zodiac Futura ALU boat with a fixed console, remote helm steering and a fully rigged engine. This configuration tends to favour the larger Futura's. These boats are normally transported on a road trailer.

Please also note that there are significant difference in the engine power that each of the Zodiac Futuras - the Zodaic Futura Fastroller or Futura ALU - will take safely.

The rigid floor in the Zodiac Futura ALU allows it to take a more powerful engines than the equivalent sized boat with the Zodiac Futura Fastroller Floor.

The engine type used on the Futura needs to be selected to match the boat type and size.

ROAD TRAILERS FOR ZODIAC FUTURA'S

Road trailers for Zodiac Futura's are available separately from Pennine Marine.
These Futura road trailer's are standard Indespension boat trailers with additional bunk bars to support the flat Futura hull, one addituional bunk bar either side of the two speed tubes.
Therefore an Indespension road trailer for a Zodiac Futura will have four bunk bars, rather than the normal two bunk bars.
